Grand Theft Auto or GTA is a first released game of the series of same name which has now spanned 9 more games and 2 expansion packs. It was developed by DMA Design now known as Rockstar North and was published by ASC Games. It was released in October, 1997 for PC and Playstation. Later on it was also available for free download through Steam. Grand theft Auto is now free to download and play video game. The plot was set in three fictional cities named after real world cities: Liberty City (New York), San Andreas (San Francisco) and Vice City (Miami). Grand Theft Auto allows player to take as any of the eight available characters. The game proceeds as a series of levels. The plot can be set in any of the three cities for Grand Theft Auto but player has to attain certain number of points to clear the level. Maximum of 5 lives are given to the player in the game.
