Hint: Keep Your Back to the Wall, Marine!
When playing as a Marine in multiplayer, keep you back against a wall and the alien races will not be able to instantly kill you.
Hint: Collectible Locations
When playing as an Alien or Predator, activate FOCUS to make collectibles flash on your HUD.


Guide to defeating the Alien/Predator Hybrid Hard


There are three phases to beating the Hybrid.
Important safety tips:
* Always look where you are going lest you find yourself in a
lava grave after the first phase.


* Give yourself some room from the Hybrid when placing
mines on the floating platforms or you will end up in lava
with your prey.


* When the Hybrid leaps towards you leap away!


* Nightmare difficulty, keep your eyes on your health because
you may get grabbed by the Hybrid once or twice. When this
happens keep pressing the square button.


Phase One:
This fight starts off with the Abomination/Hybrid leaping
towards you and it can do some damage. Leap past it to the
circular floating platform as it leaps towards you. Now leap
for the next platform and run until you get to the "seam"
between the platforms and place a mine, repeat two
"seams" later. If you have done this, you should only
take one hit if that and the Hybrid should be in its lava bath.
Next leap back to the area you started at and put down five (5)
mines for company. When the Hybrid lands you need to
shoot it with your Plasma cannon in order to inflict
maximum damage. Shooting the Hybrid when it lands
should be enough to send it racing across the screen
just before a cut scene, if you get a lock with the
plasma cannon quickly take the shot. The Hybrid will
jump around like a 600 pound gorilla throwing a temper
tantrum and this begins Phase two.


Phase Two:
***Watch where you are running it is now possible for you to
run or walk off a platform just in time for your lava spa
treatment.*** Jump to a floating platform and mine the
"seams" and be ready to leap to one of the two circular
islands in the middle when the Hybrid comes for you, and
it will. Again go back to where you started and put out the
party favours of five (5) mines and equip the plasma
cannon once more. Shoot the Hybrid the moment it jumps
onto the mines. As it runs across the screen get in another
shot from the plasma cannon if you have time before the
tantrum cut scene and we're almost there.


Phase Three:
***Watch where you are running it is now possible for you to
run or walk off a platform just in time for your lava spa
treatment.*** To say that you have nowhere to run to is an
understatment at this point. Remember the circular islands
in the middle? Of course you do, now we go there mine it
up, I recommend using the five (5) mines with very little
space between them. Wait for the Hybrid to join you and
chase you around the mines, then head back to where you
started mine that up once more and light the Hybrid up
when it follows.
