  Introduction

  Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 takes place south of the United States border in 2014, one year after the events of Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter. Gameplay is similar to its predecessor with some added features including an improved cross-com system. Players select each NPC to bring along for each mission rather than working with a preselected team as in prior versions. Selecting the correct teammates in conjunction with the game's Intel screen is vital for each mission's success. The basic in-game tutorial runs you through all of the necessary motions.

  Act I: Operation Lone Star Shield

  • We Need Your Cajones Son

  1. Begin the game dropped behind enemy lines with your team to take out some artillery.
  2. TIP: You don't really need any specialists for this mission.
  3. Head north of the two objective squares towards the village.
  4. Place the team with a clear line of sight to the wrecked area.
  5. Use full command view so you can see from your team's perspective.
  6. Open fire on the six enemies in the village.
  7. Move to one of the gold objective squares.
  8. Use the UAV to recon the valley.
  9. TIP: Use caution with buildings with an unknown number of hostiles. Send the team in ahead of time to scout before heading in full force.
  10. Locate the two guns.
  11. Determine which way to approach the village.
  12. TIP: Enemy opposition is light, but there is an enemy in the cave guarding the east gun.
  13. NOTE: Scott Mitchell has infinite C4 available to take out objectives.
  14. Press the action button once facing the context action spot on each artillery piece.
  15. Wait for the animation to finish and get out FAST.
  16. Set your team to aggressive mode to begin firing on enemies.
  17. Move them to the valley pass.
  18. Move in quickly on the bridge.
  19. Ignore the UAV for now.
      
      • Secondary Objective
      
      
  20. Gather your team.
  21. Order them to fire in the general direction of the truck position and general direction of their process on the road.
  22. Blow up the trucks on the bridge dropping off enemy reinforcements before they have a chance to make a break for it.

  • Knock 'em Dead

  1. Select a your semiautomatic assault rifle.
  2. Take out the four enemies near the enemy vehicle at the gold square.
  3. TIP: Accessing the ammunitions MULE will refill health and reset your ammo. It does, however, limit weapons and force you to play in quick mission mode.
  4. Take the SR A550 counter-snipe.
  5. Move the UAV west of the entrance to the camp.
  6. Take out the red markers at the bottom of the ramp.
  7. Use the bottom ramp area to clear the camp entrance of snipers and enemies.
  8. Do a 10 second active scan.
  9. Pull back.
  10. Move the UAV using the tactical map "give order" command.
  11. Snip all of the enemies.
  12. TIP: If you run out of ammo or need health, visit MULE for a fresh batch of supplies.
  13. Make your way to the camp.
  14. Focus on killing enemies you can get from the top of the ramp.
  15. Restore your character's life as needed.
      
      • Secondary Objective
      
      
  16. Use the ZEUS launcher in "quick mission" mode to take out the truck at the bottom of the camp.
  17. Clear out any remaining enemies.
  18. Set up a rally point.
  19. Select your team with yourself as the marksman.
  20. Be sure to include a medic and gunner.
  21. Make your way down the right side of the ramp, hugging the cliff wall.
  22. Get to the entrance of the cave.
  23. Bring the MULE manually to avoid mortar blasts.
  24. Take out the remaining rebels in the camp.
  25. Take off at the extraction point.

  • Unpleasant Surprise: Gunride

  1. NOTE: The gun ride entails a rail-shooting mission.
  2. Operate the M134 attached to the UH60's side.
  3. TIP: The M134 has infinite ammo. You need to stop firing periodicially or the gun will automatically stop or slow if the temp gets too high.
  4. Take out the vehicles and enemy soldiers.
  5. Use the cars as DDT bombs.

  • This Place Is An Inferno

  1. Land in the midst of the warzone.
  2. Make sure your team consists of a medic, grenadier, rifleman and marksman.
  3. NOTE: The MULE will have access to only ZEUS in this campaign, requiring you to take out enemy vehicles on your own.
  4. Use your team to take care of the ambush at the Landing Zone.
  5. Recover life at the MULE if you get hit.
  6. Send your teammates behind the APC for cover if they get hit.
  7. Once the Landing Zone is clear, regroup your men.
  8. Work towards the MULE on the north side of the map.
  9. Stay clear of the south.
  10. Take the ZEUS launcher from the MULE.
  11. Use the brace-aim key to laser tag the tank.
  12. Launch the missile.
  13. Keep the reticule on the tank.
  14. The missile should do a top-attack that destroys it.
  15. Reload the missile launcher after you fire.
  16. TIP: It will most likely take two missileson normal to disable the tank (one on easy, three on hard).
  17. You will lose control of the MULE once the enemy tank is destroyed, but will still be able to use it to restore health and ammo.
  18. Head to the next zone.
  19. NOTE: Your team now has a Mexican APC.
  20. TIP: There are no RPG soldiers in this section.
  21. TIP: Vehicles can be destroyed by persistent machine gun fire.
  22. Have your team attack from the other route and clean house while you work on the vehicles.
  23. Send the APC out to draw fire.
  24. NOTE: The APC will leave as soon as you complete the route.
  25. Let it absorb as much as possible before it retires.
  26. While the APC absorbs gunfire, work with your team to take out all of the gun nests.
  27. Assess your losses and gear.
  28. Take MG21s from dead enemies if necessary.
  29. Ignore the incoming allies.
  30. Advance over the bridge with your team.
  31. Head to the raised market plaza on the right of the bridge.
  32. Take cover across from the secondary objective with enemy tanks.
      
      • Secondary Objective
      
      
  33. Keep your team's heads down.
  34. Wait for the trucks that appear after the first tank.
  35. Hit the trucks with explosives. Use the ZEUS if it is available.
  36. Give order for an air-strike to take out the three invading tanks.
  37. Call on squad members with anti-armor to take out the tanks if necessary.
  38. Destroy trucks with enemies in between tank assaults.
  39. Leave the zone once all the enemies and tanks are destroyed.
  40. Mission accomplished.

  Act II: Operation Hornet's Nest

  • You'll Be Inserted Solo

  1. NOTE: This act introduces the MR-C-LW, a camera gun is more inaccurate due to not having semi-automatic fire.
  2. TIP: Don't forget to bring the destructive parcel for the satchel bomb you will need later in the mission.
  3. Select one of the more powerful guns with a scope, e.g., the G-36K.
     
     • Secondary Objective
     
     
  4. NOTE: You will need to return in "quick mission" mode to take out the additional trucks that come in later in the mission.
  5. Take out the two trucks at the bottom of the hill: one when it stops near the wrecked car that is blowing black smoke, the other near the taxicab.
  6. Place the satchel bomb near the wrecked car.
  7. Blow it up.
  8. Take out the other truck with automatic machine gun fire.
  9. Proceed on the route through the cemetery.
  10. Be ready for a large number of enemies.
  11. Stop at each large tombstone.
  12. Wait with enhanced nightvision for the white moving shapes.
  13. Estimate how many there are and take them out.
  14. Get a UAV at the end of the cemetery.
  15. Use it to locate the three enemies in the parking lot.
  16. Make your way to the MULE.
  17. Throw out grenades to take out the three in the parking lot.
  18. Use your gun if any more enemies appear.
  19. Get the DR-1 sniper rifle once you make it to the MULE.
  20. Kill the marked enemies on the map.
  21. TIP: Any enemies on rooftops are marksmen and will take you out instantly if you are not careful to not be a target.
      
      • Secondary Objective
      
      
  22. Head to the truck at the midpoint of zone 3.
  23. Use the ZEUS to take it out with little effort.
  24. TIP: If you take this truck out on a replay, your entire MULE arsenal is unlocked.
  25. Use the DR-1 sniper to take out the enemies to the east and south.
  26. Take out the enemies at the gold square.
  27. Sneak in from the south.
  28. Alert the enemies with a PDW shot.
  29. Wait for the truck to arrive and unload enemies before leaving.
  30. Take them out with the ZEUS.
  31. Move on to the next area.
  32. Summon the MULE to your location.
  33. Park it behind the building.
  34. Take out the two visible snipers on your side of the block.
  35. Take out the third sniper by leaning out when you get close enough to the building.

  • The Price of Peace

  1. Select any assault rifle for your weapon.
  2. Start off with two Mexican soldiers.
  3. Use them as you will in this zone and the next, especially when taking out the AA guns. They will be pulled back later in the mission.
  4. Place your two Mexican soldiers on a rooftop in attack mode.
  5. Cover and attack from the other side.
  6. Clear the area.
  7. Head to the rally point and gather your team of two squads.
  8. Crawl with your squads along the side of the map towards the single AA tank.
  9. Send your teams to the two rooftops for cover.
  10. Use the underground passage to reach the buildings.
  11. Stay high and away from the tanks.
  12. Use airstrikes from the supporting Apache to take out the tanks and any enemies on the ground.
  13. Head to the Oshkosh HEMTT for your rally point.
  14. Equip a ZEUS.
  15. Select an anti-armor soldier to include with your team.
  16. Arm yourself with a ZEUS launcher.
      
      • Secondary Objective
      
      
  17. Down the three Russian choppers with the ZEUS before they kill you.
  18. Semi-auto fire your PDW.
  19. Take the left bridge into the enemy zone.
  20. Have your team work on clearing the enemy.
  21. Make your way to the gold square in the park.
  22. Switch to ZEUS.
  23. Order your team to attack mode.
  24. Have your team wait behind the planter.
  25. Take cover at the opposite side to cover the yard.
  26. Wait for the two choppers.
  27. Have your team take out one chopper.
  28. Use your ZEUS to take out the other.
  29. Reload your ZEUS.
  30. Keep attacking until both choppers crash.
  31. Duck, reload and take out the final chopper.
  32. Kill enemies until the Humvee appears.
  33. Touch the Humvee to end the objective.

  • On Your Own

  1. Start the mission with your previous weapon.
  2. Select an enemy G-36K to use until you get to the MULE.
  3. Stay behind cover.
  4. Have your Mexican soldier work with you.
  5. Use your semiautomatic to take out enemies until you can get to the MULE.
  6. Heal if necessary.

  7. Blow up the truck.
  8. Set yourself to "quick mission" mode.
  9. Suit up at the MULE.
  10. Locate the warehouse building near the mortars.
  11. Run to the building for cover.
  12. Manually drive the MULE to your position.
  13. Kill the mortar team with a ZEUS shot.
  14. Take cover in the building.
  15. Wait for the two choppers to appear.

  16. TIP: Reload after each missile shot.
  17. Creep out from behind cover.
  18. Use your ZEUS to take out the choppers.
  19. NOTE: Do not let them escape.
  20. Heal at the MULE.
  21. Take out the mortar team.
  22. Extract at the gold square.

  Act III: Operation Orpheus

  • Failure Is Not An Option

  1. Time for another gun ride.
  2. Keep all the salvage convoy vehicles safe during the ride.
  3. Take out anything with a red marker.
  4. Take out vehicles in pursuit with your fastest guns.
  5. Destroy any roadblocks in the way.
  6. Use the parked cars as bombs to get rid of enemies.

  • Get Me Rosen!

  1. Begin this mission alone with an SR A550.
  2. TIP: Conserve your ammunition. You only have 50 rounds to hold you til your rally.
  3. Send the UAV to locate the two enemies in the area.
  4. Take them out with two shots.
  5. Make your way to their graves.
  6. Use the UAV to scan and scout the building.
  7. TIP: Remember to scan quickly so the enemies do not detect the buzz of the UAV.
  8. Duck and snipe all enemies around the building.
  9. Fire at any dull red outlines.
  10. Make your way into the building.
  11. Plant an explosive charge on the wreckage.
  12. Exit before the charge blows.
  13. Salvage any weapons.
  14. Watch out for the marksmen between the blue and red zones.
  15. Use the UAV to scout the junction to the next valley for him to appear on your HUD.
  16. Survey the north camp, sweeping the spot with the UAV until all of the enemies appear.
  17. Approach on the indicated path.
  18. Take out all of the enemies.
  19. Attack the four enemies in the southern camp.
  20. Rally at the Oshkosh.
  21. Take a team with a grenadier and marksman.
  22. Bring the destructive pack with you.
  23. Bring the M48 light machinegun for your weapon.
  24. Head to the southwest corner.
  25. Take out the enemies in each quadrant.
  26. Locate the building with the hostage, marked with a green marker.
      
      • Secondary Objective
      
      
  27. Wait for the three trucks to drop off enemies.
  28. Use a satchel to blast the first truck at its parked spot.
  29. Take out the others with gunfire.
  30. Place a satchel outside the hacienda's main gate.
  31. Wait for the truck.
  32. Take out the truck with the satchel before the enemies inside the hacienda get out.
  33. Place your team behind the planters facing outside of the hacienda.
  34. Locate an MG21.
  35. Have your grenade launcher and satchel ready.
  36. Locate the hostage in the southwest building.
  37. Approach the hostage.
  38. Get back to the roof.
  39. Take out incoming enemies and meet enemy fire with your own.
  40. Extract on the roof of Rosen's building.

  Act IV: Operation Eagle's Claw

  • Who The Hell Are These Guys?

  1. Take a medic and gunner with you on this mission.
  2. Send your APC out.
  3. Have your APC take down the enemy nest.
  4. Stop the APC at the first AA tank position before the next waypoint.
  5. Have the APC take out any nearby enemies.
  6. Gather your team.
  7. Head upstairs to the roof of the building across from the AA tank.
  8. Use the sign and planters to blast the enemy RPG soldiers.
  9. After getting rid of the anti-armor soldiers, roll the APC to the waypoint.
  10. Use the APC to attack the remaining enemies.
  11. Blast the AA tank.
  12. Turn around.
  13. Head to the AA tanks from the alleyway that isn't covered by the APC track.
  14. Take out the RPG soldier on the balcony.
  15. Roll the APC up to finish clearing out the area.
  16. Blast the other AA tanks.
  17. NOTE: Keep yourself and your team in the green.
  18. After the APC leaves, you are ordered to hold the hotel while Bravo team searches for nuclear weapons.
  19. Grab the MG21 in the nests.
  20. Hold the gold square.
  21. Have your gunner spray the incoming trucks.
  22. Keep at it until all of the enemies are dead.
  23. Head to Oshkosh for outfitting.
  24. Use up any healing packs.
  25. Take a medium range weapon.
  26. Select a medic and gunner to accompany you on the final part of the mission.
  27. NOTE: The objective begins as soon as you select your weapon and team.
  28. Head to the right.
  29. Locate the stairs by a building.
  30. Regroup your team constantly.
  31. Order the chopper to nuke the approaching truck.

  • Secondary Objective

  1. Head up the stairs to the right of the rally point.
  2. Destroy the two passing trucks from the rooftop.
  3. Order the chopper to nuke the second truck.
  4. Head out with the tank and chopper.
  5. Use the chopper to take out the anti-armor soldiers.
  6. Have the tank take out the vehicles.
  7. Order your team to take out the remaining enemies on aggressive mode.
  8. Sneak up behind the tank.
  9. Take out the RPG soldiers.
  10. Use the chopper to take out the two RPG soldiers on either side of the street.
  11. Move your tank forward through the middle building once all of the RPG soldiers are dead.
  12. NOTE: The extraction becomes a chaotic gun ride.
  13. Wait for the first wave of enemies to gather around the Greyhound bus.
  14. Blow up the bus.
  15. Continuously do the "give order" command while you locate the vehicular red diamond.
  16. Wait for the stolen M1A1 tank to appear and attack.
  17. Blow it up as quickly as possible.
  18. Take out more enemy soldiers while you wait for the second tank.
  19. Blow up the tank.
  20. Continue to focus on killing RPG soldiers by sweeping the minigun over the crowds.

  • Codenamed Farallon

  1. Take the anti-armor soldier.
  2. Select a sniper rifle and an offensive or defensive pack for smokes.
  3. Use the UAV to locate the sniper in the city. You need to kill him before he kills you.
  4. After you take him out, sweep the remaining enemies with your team and the Mexican infantry.
  5. Use the UAV to locate any enemies by the facilities entrance.
  6. Clear them out with the two squads.
  7. TIP: Make good use of the rocket soldier when they are clustered together in groups.
  8. UAV the southern plant.
  9. Pull your team back to mid-area between the two plants as your defensive force dwindles.

  • Secondary Objective

  1. Wait for the choppers to appear in the middle area.
  2. Take them down with MG21 fire or a rocket for a bonus.
  3. Take down the northern plant.
  4. Once both plants are secure, access the bridge to the main building but do not enter the building.
  5. Use smoke grenades to obscure your movements.
  6. Toss four grenades into the room.
  7. Order your Mexican team into the building.
  8. Storm the basement.
  9. Use the remaining teams to clean up.
  10. Head upstairs.
  11. Take out the lower levels of enemies as they descend.
  12. Clear out the building.
  13. Order your teams to stand guard away from windows on the middle level.
  14. Pick up a grenade launcher.
  15. Head to the roof.
  16. Place the EMP charge.
  17. Detonate the charge.
  18. Take out the two choppers that show up to attack.
  19. Extract to the Oshkosh.

  • Shaddap And Do Your Job

  1. Start this mission with the default rifleman, gunner, and medic team.
  2. Take a sniper or assault rifle for your weapon.
  3. Take cover.
  4. Take out the marksmen on the roof of the small building ahead.
  5. Take out incoming enemies and vehicles.
  6. Head up the hill.
  7. Pre prepared to snipe marksmen and other enemies along the way.
  8. Once you reach the hilltop, take out the light vehicle that approaches.
  9. Take out the APC that approaches as you pass the gate to the toll booth.

  10. Pass the chain link fence and an APC drops off more enemies.
  11. Use your ZEUS to take down the APC.
  12. Pick up a G-36K.
  13. Take out who and what you can.
  14. Proceed towards the tollboth.
  15. Hole your position by setting your rifleman on a fixed gun.
  16. Set your gunner or grenadier on the second fixed gun.
  17. Destroy all of the incoming vehicles.
  18. NOTE: An Oshkosh appears for a resupply.
  19. Get ready for the final assault.
  20. TIP: You will need a medic and a grenadier or a gunner, and a marksman.
  21. NOTE: You will get a tank and helicopter to start the mission, but the chopper will leave your command before the checkpoint.
  22. Make the most of the tank and chopper to get to the checkpoint.
  23. Take out the two RPG soldiers.
  24. Have your tank blast the remaining enemies with its gun.
  25. NOTE: This leaves your team in good shape for the final showdown.
  26. Sneak in on the left side of the middle building to take out the alley sniper.
  27. Take down the RPG soldier on the roof past the middle building.
  28. Have your tank take care of the remaining enemies.
  29. Draw out the final group of enemies by the back stairs.
  30. Switch to the tank command view.
  31. Order it to fire on the enemies.
  32. Advance closer as you can to keep taking enemies out.
  33. Remain in a prone position.
  34. Use the barrels for cover.
  35. Take down the remaining enemies.
  36. Sight the missile pit.
  37. Wait for the chopper to appear and attack.
  38. Retreat and hide under the arcade.
  39. Have your tank shoot down the chopper.
  40. Use the "give order" command on the missile pit.
  41. Detonate the rockets to end the game!

Successfully complete the indicated task to get the corresponding experience bonuses:


Ability Bonus: Have at least three Officer Cards of the same rank (Lord, Off., or Strat.). Three cards of the same rank gives a +3 bonus to all Officer cards; four cards of the same rank gives +5; and five cards of the same rank gives +10.


Element Bonus: Have at least three Officer cards of the same element. Three cards of the same element gives a +5 bonus to each card's attribute; four cards of the same element gives +10; and five cards of the same element gives +20.


Face Bonus: Have at least three Officer cards of the same character model. Three cards of the same model gives a +3 bonus to all Officer cards; four cards of the same model gives +5; and five cards of the same model gives +10.

Third costume
Have a character reach level 10 to unlock their third costume.


Fourth costume
Get 1,000 kills with a character to unlock their fourth costume. Alternately, complete over fifty missions.


Item duplication
Save the game. Trade the item to be duplicated to another player for no item. Exit to the main menu. Answer "No" when prompted to save the game. Reload the previously saved game. You will still have the previously traded item. Have the other player save their game, have the item traded back to you. Save the game. Have the other player exit to the main menu and answer "No" when prompted to save. Both players should now have the same item.


Level up town easily
Start a battle, then immediately quit to get sent back to your town. The buildings in the town will still gain points. Note: The amount will vary based on which cards you have set. You can easily raise the buildings meter to level up; however, you will still need the items to complete the level up.


Infinite Musou attacks
